Welcome to the official online platform of the Public Islamic Technical University (PITU). By accessing, browsing, registering, or utilizing the web domain pitu.ph, its associated subdomains, portals, virtual classrooms (Halaqah), and Learning Management Systems (LMS), you explicitly agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service, legal disclaimers, and operational covenants. If you do not agree to these terms, you must immediately cease all use of this platform.
Nature of the Institution and Service Model
a. Endowment Framework: PITU is a non-stock, non-profit educational institution operating under the laws of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Philippines. The academic platform is powered fully by the PITU Free Education Endowment Fund to deliver tuition-free traditional Islamic sciences and modern technical education.
b. No Commercial Guarantee: Users acknowledge that access to educational materials, open-source resources, and synchronous lectures is provided purely for spiritual, technical, and academic advancement. The university makes no representations or warranties regarding immediate corporate placement or employment guarantees resulting from platform utilization.
Intellectual Property & Synchronous Recordings Archive
a. Copyright Ownership: All content hosted on this domain—including but not limited to live lecture video recordings (Halaqah), streamed course modules, technical scripts, syllabi, watermarks, branding elements, and software configurations—is the exclusive intellectual property of PITU or assigned permanently to it by its volunteer faculty.
b. Strict User Restrictions: Users, student trainees, and visitors are strictly prohibited from downloading, recording, capturing, duplicating, or redistribution of any stream feeds or learning modules outside the official university domain. Unauthorized clipping or broadcasting of institutional assets on external social media networks without express written routing through the Vice President for Public Relations (VPPR) will result in immediate termination of portal access and potential civil or criminal legal recourse.
Technical and System Requirements
To access PITU’s 100% synchronous distance learning environment safely and smoothly, users are responsible for maintaining their own operational baselines:
• A stable internet connection capable of sustaining active data pipelines without system lag.
• Compatible hardware configurations (including functional cameras and enterprise browser setups) required to bypass automated proctoring thresholds during online examinations.
• The university is not liable for academic disruptions, missing attendance synchronization, or exam link expirations caused by personal power outages, local blackouts, or sub-baseline internet performance.
User Conduct, Ethics, and Platform Etiquette
All registered users, students, and volunteer instructors must mirror the highest moral standards, professional etiquette, and core spiritual values of PITU across all internal communication channels, chat boards, and public interfaces. Any manifestation of cyber-bullying, systematic academic dishonesty, unauthorized platform scanning, distribution of malware, or presentation of culturally non-compliant material will trigger an immediate administrative review and a permanent system ban.
Data Privacy and Security Disclosure
PITU is fiercely committed to protecting data privacy. All student profiles, academic gradebooks, attendance logs, and stakeholder registration lists processed through this platform are governed in strict compliance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and regional BARMM regulations.
• Information Collection: We collect and securely archive learning metrics to maintain the mandatory legal audit trails required by government inspection panels (such as MBHTE-BARMM, DGME, CHED, or TESDA).
• No Third-Party Commercialization: PITU will never sell, lease, or distribute private user databases to commercial third-party aggregators.
Limitation of Liability
The platform and all its contents are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. While PITU makes every technical effort to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 server stability on the pitu.ph network, the university does not guarantee that the platform will be entirely free from server drops, maintenance windows, or malicious external cyber-attacks. PITU, its board of trustees, and its executive officers shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use this platform.
Legal Jurisdiction and Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Service shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, with particular emphasis on the regional legal frameworks of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Any formal legal disputes arising directly from platform utilization that cannot be resolved amicably via internal mediation channels shall be filed exclusively in the courts of proper jurisdiction in Cotabato City, Philippines.
