تأسست الجامعة التقنية الإسلامية العامة (PITU) في ١٦ أبريل ٢٠٢٤ برؤية جماعية لمؤسسيها: الدكتور عبد الله مجاهد، الأستاذ سالم زيلون و المهندس عبد الرحيم عبد الله مجاهد. وقد أُنشئت الجامعة لتقديم تعليم عالٍ مجاني، متاح، وذو جودة عالية، يجمع بين التعاليم الإسلامية الأصيلة المستندة إلى القرآن الكريم والسنة النبوية، وبين التخصصات التقنية والمهنية الحديثة
باعتبارها أول مؤسسة تعليم عالٍ إسلامية عبر الإنترنت من نوعها في الفلبين، أُنشئت الجامعة التقنية الإسلامية العامة لتوفير تعليم نوعي للمتعلمين الذين لا يستطيعون الالتحاق بالجامعات الإسلامية التقليدية بسبب القيود المالية أو البُعد الجغرافي أو ظروف أخرى. وإلى جانب الدراسات الإسلامية، تقدّم الجامعة برامج تقنية ومهنية تهدف إلى إعداد خريجين أكفاء يتمتعون بالجاهزية الفكرية والاستقامة الأخلاقية والالتزام بخدمة المجتمع من خلال العلم والإيمان والعمل.

The Public Islamic Technical University (PITU) was established on April 16, 2024 through the collective vision of its founders— Dr. Abdullah Mujahid, Ustadh Salim Zailon and Engr. Abdurraheem Abdullah Mujahid. The University was founded to provide free, accessible, and high-quality higher education that integrates authentic Islamic teachings based on the Qur’an and the Sunnah with modern technical and professional disciplines.
As the first online Islamic higher education institution of its kind in the Philippines, PITU was established to make quality education accessible to learners who are unable to attend traditional Islamic universities due to financial limitations, geographical distance, or other circumstances. Beyond Islamic studies, the University also offers technical and professional programs designed to develop competent graduates who are intellectually prepared, morally upright, and committed to serving society through knowledge, faith, and action.
